  • Egypt's CSD Mohab Mamish arrives at Port Said

    Egypt’s Suez Canal Authority Chief Admiral Osama Rabie announced the arrival of “Mohab Mamish,” the largest dredger in the Middle East, at Egypt’s Port Said on the 9th April, 2021. Egypt’s Cutter Suction Dredger (CSD) “Mohab Mamish,” was carried by the heavy load carrier “Xiang Rui Kou,” from the Port of Rotterdam, Netherlands, and berthed at the E1 area of the Great Bitter Lakes in Ismailia on the 10th April, 2021. The dredger was separated from its carrier upon its arrival by a team of the Canal’s personnel in cooperation with experts from the Dutch Royal IHC Shipyard, to let it float and join its fleet.

    The Australian Maritime Safety Authority announced an 18-month ban for a Qatari-owned bulker after releasing the vessel from a two-month detention. Calling conditions aboard the bulk carrier “appalling,” AMSA cautioned all vessel owners and operators that it has “zero-tolerance for sub-standard ships operating in Australian waters.”
