Dhs20 billion worth of deals signed over first four days of IDEX and NAVDEX
The fourth day of the International Defence Exhibition (IDEX) and the Naval Defence Exhibition (NAVDEX) 2021 has seen the UAE Armed Forces sign 24 new deals, worth Dhs2.140 billion, with local and international companies. The cumulative value of deals signed at IDEX and NAVDEX is now Dhs20.053 billion.

Two new partners and a name revealed for the Ammonia-fuelled tanker joint development project
Ammonia-fuelled tanker Joint Development Project (JDP) partners – MISC Berhad (MISC), Lloyd’s Register (LR), Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) and MAN Energy Solutions (MAN) announced the entry of two new partners – the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) and Yara International ASA (Yara) at a recent webinar focused on Ammonia as a Shipping Fuel which was organised by The Getting to Zero Coalition’s Fuels & Technologies workstream. The JDP partners also went on to announce the name of the expanded coalition – The Castor Initiative.

DFDS Seaways and Maersk are joining with leaders from the agricultural industry in a project led by the Danish investment firm Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) for the establishment of Europe’s largest production facility of CO2-free green ammonia. The companies participating in the project are committing to work towards realizing the establishment of the facility and the use of the fuel to reduce carbon emissions from their operations.

EDP creates units to exploit green hydrogen and energy storage
The EDP Group has strengthened its commitment to decarbonization by launching two units that will exploit the potential of green hydrogen and energy storage systems. The H2 Business Unit (H2BU) will be the Group's new arm for the development of green hydrogen projects, while the dedicated storage unit, built in EDPR NA, will aim to achieve a storage capacity of 1 GW within five years.
